Mathemba
Mathemba graduated from the University

I was born into a very humble family that had to work extra hard to provide for my basic needs as a child, including my formal education. Life became even harder when, at age 13, I lost my mother who, despite being of humble means, made sure that I did not get to see and feel the struggles and hardships that my family had to go through in order to provide for me. Coming face to face with reality after the death of my mother and facing all the challenges a typical orphan in a developing country is bound to face made me more determined throughout my life as a student. My unwavering determination, zeal and aim at excellence, combined with my faith in God helped me to excel in almost everything I did.

Both in high school and university, I was an active member of the Scripture Union Club which is a club of Christian students that meets on a regular basis with the intention of worshiping God and exploring his will through the reading and studying of his word. Being a member of such groups helped me to grow spiritually.

Growing up, I received guidance and support from my community and a loving family from Canada to make up for the voids in my life. They were my pillars of strength in so many ways. Through deeds, they taught and showed me love and the importance of serving others.

Since I graduated from university my goal has been to change, for the better, the lives of the underprivileged in my community through charity and good influence just as mine was changed by others.

I cannot promise that I will be the saviour and reliever of the world's poverty issues, but I can promise that, I will serve the human race with all the mental and physical dexterity that I have.
